Seattle’s James Paetzer has reportedly been linked to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, according to MLB Network Insider Adam Rubin.
Paetzi’s name has been mentioned as a possible free agent for the Angels in the past, but it’s unclear if the team will ever make a move for the outfielder.
The Angels are expected to be interested in Paetz as a replacement for the injured Jedd Gyorko, and they’re reportedly considering bringing in a veteran like Carlos Beltran.
Paetsa has a career .262/.331/.404 slash line with 23 home runs and 61 RBIs over 1,900 plate appearances, so the 30-year-old would add to the Angels’ already stacked outfield.
The Mariners would likely have to be patient to land Paetzes services.
They’ll likely need to spend a few million dollars on a prospect to solidify their outfield in the long term.
